Roxanne comes from a long legacy of hard workers who have lived off the land – she’s the granddaughter of a farmer, cowboy, coal miner, and caregiver, and her father worked in the oil industry. She honors the legacy of her family by celebrating their perseverance, while also contributing to a future that aims to heal the devastating effects of extractive industries.

“This is a critical time to bring anti-racist and liberatory practices to philanthropy. I’m excited to help align our internal operations with our mission, so we are better positioned to support our grantees, as well as each other,” said Roxanne. As the Director of Operations, Roxanne collaborates with Skyline staff and Pacific Foundation Services to ensure the Foundation walks the walk, which includes aligning the foundation’s systems and policies with a commitment to trust-based philanthropy so the whole organization reflects Skyline’s vision and values.

Roxanne has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from American University. Prior to joining Skyline, she was Managing Director for BDO’s Nonprofit and Grantmaking Advisory Services, where she helped leaders better understand and leverage their financial resources to meet their missions. Roxanne has also held roles at multiple nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, serving in a diverse range of functions, including program design and delivery, fundraising, and communications.

Originally from Houston, TX, Roxanne has called the Bay Area home for almost 20 years. She enjoys dancing, art, swimming, and planning her next travel adventure. Roxanne lives in Oakland with her spouse and two cats.
