Program Associate, Just Democracy & Birth Justice
(he/him)

Eddie’s path has instilled in him a profound commitment to justice, social awareness, research and data, and community engagement. His journey has led him to believe that his calling is to give back and contribute to a more equitable world.

“Being part of a team that prioritizes listening, learning, and acting with humility and trust energizes me. I am excited to contribute to initiatives that not only provide immediate support, but also create lasting impacts,” says Eddie. As the Program Associate for both the Just Democracy and Birth Justice program areas, Eddie manages and analyzes information about Skyline’s grantees, drafts grant recommendations, and ensures the accuracy and efficiency of the Foundation’s grantmaking processes. In addition, he coordinates with grantees and provides support throughout the grant cycle, all while collaborating with the Foundation’s team to facilitate a trust-based philanthropic culture.

Eddie holds a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from San Francisco State University, which catalyzed his commitment to racial and economic equity. Before joining Skyline, he was Learning Manager at the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, serving as the point person for learning about the impact of its offerings and engagements. Eddie proactively identified trends and connections to inform the Project’s overall strategy and goals, contributing to efforts to help philanthropy meaningfully understand and intervene in harmful power imbalances. Prior to this role, Eddie was a Fellow in Public Affairs at Coro Northern California and worked in nonprofits that focused on youth.

Born and raised in San Francisco, you can find Eddie in dance class, seeing plays and movies, out in nature, and surrounded by friends and family.
